Beyond the GLP-1 Hype

GLP1’s usage for weight loss is becoming more and more common, and for good reason. They’re effective. GLP1’s are the first real answer from the pharmaceutical world, for giving weight loss.

However just like with any new revolutionary drug before it, comparisons exist. There are always different methods of achieving the same end goal, weight loss. Let’s dive into a comparison of 3 different methods and analyze their results, safety and cost. By the end of this article you’ll be able to decide for yourself what is best for you.

The 3 Methods

There are many options for weight loss, however to be objective we’ve picked the 3 with
clinical studies evidence (not what people feel is working, but what actually worked).
Real evidence backed by real studies.

01.

Calorie Deficit Alone

The calorie deficit is everything when it comes to weight loss. There is absolutely no weight loss without the calorie deficit. It is an unshakeable law, just like gravity, our constant rain and traffic jams (on Friday evenings especially).

All methods including GLP1’s, natural supplements, exercise, only give someone weight loss through first achieving the calorie deficit. Therefore for point 1 above, we’ll be focusing on the manual and deliberate calorie restriction. Basically, reducing your portions or eating less calories than what you normally eat. AKA; a diet.

02.

GLP-1 Drugs

GLP-1 drugs are being formulated for weight loss now rather than just for diabetes when they were initially launched. There are many drug companies with their own version of it (just like how both Malaysia and Singapore have their own versions of the same dishes).

We’ll be focusing on evidence of weight loss results from published studies. These are effective, and reduce the mental turmoil that can come with long term manual calorie restriction.

03.

Trifect by Vitera

Natural weight loss supplements and remedies have, and always will exist. We can even imagine from the beginning of time, there may have been a nice cave-woman mak cik recommending a special ingredient to help reduce bloating or weight.

Natural supplements have come a long way from being a culturally suggested secret. There are now efficacious formulas that have been tested with the same strict clinical standards as their pharmaceutical counterparts.

The supplement we will be judging is Vitera’s β€˜Trifect’. We will be using evidence from their Doctor led clinical studies to compare with the other methods.

Average Weight Loss Percentage over 12 Months

Results Analysis in 12-Month Trends.

To find the most effective method for weight loss, we will be using results from 12 months. This is to avoid any fluctuations month to month. Important as with women in particular, weight loss results will vary due to timing of the hormonal cycle, and accumulation of water weight.

1. Calorie Deficit - Results:

A peer-reviewed study conducted by professionals tracked results over 12 months. The participants were given a 25% calorie deficit (i.e; cutting 1/4th of their usual portions).

Interestingly, it was found that over the 12 months, not all participants could maintain this cut in calories. Therefore mental fatigue was a concern that did affect the results. It highlights the importance of mental health and fatigue in a weight loss journey.

2. GLP-1s - Results:

There were 4 studies in particular using 2 different types of GLP-1 drugs. The average weight loss results range from 12.9% to 16.5%.

We’ve used 15% in our comparison, higher than the average of these four studies. When compared to the calorie deficit alone, we can understand why the FDA-Approved drugs are becoming more and more popular. They reduce mental turmoil.

3. Trifect - Results:

Doctor-led studies measured weight loss, inches and fat percentage reduction as well as conducting full medical profiles before and after supplementation.

Participants did not exercise regularly, and there was no manual restriction of types of foods. Carbohydrates and sugar were consumed throughout the journey, including fried foods.

Achieves a similarly β€œautomatic” calorie deficit like GLP-1’s, because participants feel fuller faster and have reduced cravings.
